F020 - Underground D Side Jointing, Closure & Quality

This module consists of 3 assessments. A questionnaire and 2 practical sessions. This module will prove the delegates knowledge of D side Copper jointing including Closures and Quality

Description

This module is essential for anyone carrying out Copper Jointing and Quality Checks in the UG Network.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites – prior to attending this event you MUST have completed the following

  • SA002 – Safety Underground
  • NRSWA Streetworks Qualification – Unit 01

This module consists of a practical session only. The module assesses the delegate's ability to understand the requirements and demonstrate their competence to De-load and Reload a PCP, which could be associated with a Remote Digital Service Line Access Multiplexor (RDSLAM), to the quality standards and installation practices changing over cables and tie cables to minimise disruption to existing end customers and faults associated with this task.

This module consists of two parts, a questionnaire and a practical assessment. It will check the Delegates understanding & ability to complete all MDF work, including block numbering, jumper running, termination and frame safety, as well as the Delegate's product knowledge of WLR Voice (PSTN), ADSL, LLU (MPF & SMPF), SDSL, REDCARE, DACS, SOGEA, SOTAP and Repair Clear Codes, using current working practices and quality standards.
