GVC Drones
The GVC course is designed for aspiring and professional drone pilots who wish to operate drones (up to 25kg) in the specific category, particularly in Built-up or congested areas, and need to apply for an Operational Authorisation from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)
Description
The main aims & objectives of a GVC (General Visual Line of Sight Certificate) drone course are to:
- Equip pilots with the knowledge and skills to legally and safely operate drones weighing up to 25kg in built-up and congested areas within the UK’s Specific Category.
- Enable participants to obtain the CAA Operational Authorisation required for commercial drone operations that cannot be conducted under the Open Category.
- Demonstrate and certify pilot competency in both theoretical knowledge (covering air law, responsibilities, airspace operating principles, airmanship, aviation safety, human performance, meteorology, navigation, and operating procedures) and practical flying skills.
- Prepare pilots to create and maintain an Operations Manual that meets CAA standards for safe and compliant drone operations.
- Support professional development by providing a widely recognized qualification for commercial drone pilots, enhancing employability and access to more complex drone operations

- Safety boots.
- Hi visibility clothing will be provided by PQMS.
Prerequisites
- CAA Flyer ID,
- CAA Operator ID (If managing your own drone)
