EUSR - National Water Hygiene e-Learning
A new National Water Hygiene e-Learning programme can be accessed via XAMS, EUSR's e-Learning system. Employers, trainers and learners will be able to access the scheme online.
Description
The National Water Hygiene (‘Blue Card’) scheme plays a vital part in ensuring the protection of public health and promoting good water hygiene practices. The scheme has been developed in collaboration with all UK water companies.
All UK water companies require individuals entering clean water sites or working on the clean water network – known as ‘Restricted Operations’, to hold a National Water Hygiene EUSR registration.
The benefits of choosing the e-Learning route to National Water Hygiene registration include:
Flexibility:
- Learners do not need to travel to a classroom
- No need to schedule cohorts of learners together
- Training can be completed at the learner’s own pace
- No requirement for overnight accommodation
- Can be done outside working hours
- No limit to how many learners can take the training and assessment
Cost saving:
- No requirement to set up classroom equipment for multiple users
- A trainer is not required to deliver the training
- Less time ‘off the job’ for learners
- EUSR has invested in the e-Learning system so employers do not need to make a capital investment in an e-Learning platform of their own
Time saving:
- e-Learning can be done in 2-3 hours, less than the half day face-to-face training
Prerequisites
Access to the internet, a device to access the testing system.
The e-learning process will operate as follows:
- The XAMS Administrator will set up your e-learning with EUSR and you will be sent an activation link.
- You will have 28 days to activate the link and take your e-Learning before it expires
- Once you activate the link you must complete the learning modules first and then you can attempt the e-assessment.
- Should you fail your first attempt you will be required to take all the e-learning modules again before you can take a second attempt at the e-assessment.
- Should you fail a second attempt you will be required to resit the trainer led NWH programme (You are only permitted two attempts at the e-learning/e-assessment)
- All results will be transmitted electronically to you.
- If there is a problem during the e-Learning i.e. Computer freezes, loss of internet that results in a failure even though you didn’t complete this. Please make your invigilator aware of this who will liaise with the administrator and/or EUSR to try and resolve the issue. (An incident like this may mean that you must take the e-Learning at a later date, but this will be confirmed at the time)
- You maybe contacted after you have taken the NWH e-learning as part of our quality assurance process.
- You are required to take the e-Learning on a computer, laptop or tablet in a quite area on your own. Using a mobile phone or taking this in a vehicle is not permitted.
