NRSWA Full Operative Reassessment

NRSWA re-assessment course is specifically designed as an invigilated examination-only course, adhering to the requirements set by the Highway Authorities and Utilities Committee (HAUC). Once this is completed the candidates Street Works card will be renewed for a full 5 years.

Description

The primary objective of the NRSWA re-assessment course is to evaluate the proficiency of individuals who have previously completed the training and certification.  Although reference documentation is made available, the course does not provide any additional training or refreshers on the modules covered. 

This Course consists of theory Questionnaire on the below modules

  • NRSWA (LA) - Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus (unit 1)
  • NRSWA (01) - Signing, Lighting and Guarding (Unit 2)
  • NRSWA (02) - Excavation In The Highway (Unit 3)
  • NRSWA (03) - Reinstatement and Compaction of Backfill Materials (Unit 4)
  • NRSWA (04) - Reinstatement of Sub-base & Base in Non-bituminous Materials (Unit 5)
  • NRSWA (05) - Reinstatement in Cold-lay Bituminous Materials (Unit 6)
  • NRSWA (08) - Reinstatement of Modular Surfaces and Concrete Footways (Unit 9)

Prerequisites

You must already hold a NRSWA Operative card that is expiring or has expired within the last 5 years - This card must be brought to the training session as a scan is required.

All courses now require you to bring an official form of identification to centre (for example passport or drivers licence).

 

Similar courses

The Location and Avoidance of Underground Services course is also known as Unit 1 or CAT and Genny training and can be undertaken as a one-day course, as a standalone unit on a NRSWA card. Candidates will undertake practical exercises using the equipment and will be observed throughout the day by the trainer. Candidates will also be required to complete a practical assessment and multiple choice test in order to pass the course.

Delegates are required to demonstrate their competence in Safe methods of excavation, backfill and reinstatement of modular, flexible and composite surfaces and concrete footways and location and avoidance of underground utilities.
