K009 - Optical Fibre Cabling and Air Blowing Practices
This accreditation will instruct and assess a delegates understanding & ability to install COF in SDMB using current working practices and quality standards
Description
Knowledge and understanding of relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice when working on site. The learner will be able to:
• Outline the regulatory requirements covering all work, tools and equipment when working on the Openreach network
• Decide on best installation methods when considering environmental factors
• Construct a safe working space with consideration given for work colleague’s and the public
• Complete all necessary tool and equipment checks in preparation for cable blowing
• Safely install cable optical fibre (COF) using air blown methods
• Correct methods for cable deployment and management
• Gain understanding of End to End, Mid Blow and Tandem blowing methods
