SA030 – Firestopping Installation & SA031 - Working Safely in a Multi Dwelling Unit
This qualification will provide delegates with the knowledge of the hazards, including potential risks involved when working in an MDU. It will test the delegates knowledge, skills and understanding of the dangers associated with the work, and the safety precautions required. Additionally, delegates will also leave with the required knowledge and skills to undertake fire stopping installations and use appropriate fireproof fixings. It will ensure that they are suitable trained and accredited to the NOS
Description
To train delegates in firestopping installation and standards. Topics covered will include recognition of firestopping materials, where and when it is required, selection and installation of different firestopping solutions.
The course will also train delegates to recognise risks when working in a multi dwelling unit which enables them to complete the scope of their works safely.
A module on customer liaison will also develop soft skills and interaction, whilst training and guidance will be offered on good work practices, both of which lead to improved customer satisfaction scores.
Training will also be given in the different types of MDU’s they may encounter and the limitations they may face during their work, such as controlled access/egress, site induction, types of cable permitted for the environment, working at height and risers/service shafts.
